DEAR DTMCS PARENTS,

Welcome to a new season at Doris Todd Memorial Christian School. I am pleased to be the new Athletic Director for our school. I had been the Athletic Director for three years prior to my year return to the mainland. A student athlete myself, I participated in basketball, track, and cross country.

We will be offering five different sports during the course of the year.

We will be beginning a CROSS COUNTRY program for the first time near the start of our school year.  We will be competing in our first tournament at Seabury Hall on August 27th.

During the fall we will offer VOLLEYBALL for grades 3rd-5th and for grades 6th -8th. Practices will be held at our Paia Gym by our school. Those practices will start right after school and will go for about an hour.  The 3rd-5th Grader team’s games will be held at Eddie Tam Gym in Makawao and the 6th -8th Graders games will be held at both Seabury Hall’s gym and Kamehameha’s Gym upcountry.

After volleyball is over your child then will have a chance to participate on our BASKETBALL teams come winter sports season. During the winter sports season we will offer basketball for grades 3rd-5th and for grades 6th -8th. Like volleyball, practices will be held at our Paia Gym by our school. Those practices will start right after school and will go for about an hour.  The 3rd-5th Grader team’s games will be held at Eddie Tam Gym in Makawao and the 6th -8th Graders games will be held at both Seabury Hall’s gym and Kamehameha’s Gym upcountry.

In the spring we will have a flag FOOTBALL team that competes against other schools in a county league.  This will be offered to students in grades 4th-8th.  Practices will be here at the school and game locations will be scheduled later in the year.

Also in the spring we will participate in the MIL Maui TRACK AND FIELD meet. This is a one day (all day Saturday) experience, where students will be able to participate in different events.  Our school’s P.E. teacher will practice with students during school P.E. classes for the events.

If you would like to participate in any of these please contact me and pick up an athletic handbook from the office.  There will also be opportunities to be part of our intramural basketball and football programs at recess time during the year.

If you are interested in coaching or helping with coaching with any of these sports please let me know.

Please contact me if you have any questions or comments. I hope your student athlete has a healthy and successful season participating in sports here at Doris Todd Memorial Christian School.

Warmest regards,

Jimmy Fitt (Athletic Director/4th Grade Teacher)
